So I gave my man Bradley his first tattoo. A lemon tree. Also the first time I've put colour in one. Not a fan of too much colour in tattoos, but here I think it worked well. Thanks Bradley for having faith and giving me some of your skin. True legend.

So I gave my dude Glenn his first tattoo. A nice diving helmet to commemorate his deep sea escapades.

Had a little bit of drop out on my last couple of tats I did, which meant poor old Glenn copped a good drilling to make sure that ink stays in there nice and deep. Hence the blood on this one.

Charlie took these shots of my Rat after what could have been the worst Parking cop incident of all time. I feel like punching puppy dogs just thinking about it. Anyways, he did a righteous job. I've been trying to get shots like these for ages with my digi, but you can tell he's got the good gear, got the good eye too more importantly, just looks next level.

Well, first post of 2009. This is why too. I've been working on my entry for the Moran portarait Prize. First prize is $ 150,000, but it'd be the craziest dream just to get it in the top 30. Of course that'll never happen as it's only the who's who of Australian contemporary artists who make it in I'm sure. Not to mention this is my first oil painting and I probably made a tonne of schoolboy errors. Anyway, enough negativity, I'm just elated to realise that I CAN ACTUALLY PAINT. I'll post a few more photos later of it later, and photos that I used as reference so all my adoring fans can see the amazing likeness.
Oh yeah, it's of my Opa, which means 'grandad' in Dutch. He's a crusty old Dutch sailor who lost a couple fingers during the war. So being the creative genius I am, I called the painting "My Opa Has 8 Fingers". Out.

So we went to see the new Batman animation film that's the precursor to the Dark Knight, it was called Gotham Knight. Basically a collection of six short animation films about Batman done by six different anime studios. One or two were kinda ok, but basically it was lame. Bummer. But, Mark and me got talking, and we realised we never draw existing characters. So we're both gonna lay down some Batmans. Here's a few first thought sketches.
