Shit Yes!

Went out for beers with Mr McKinnon yesterday and to see more of the wizardry he's performed on Rat Mk2.
The thing came with British orientation controls, that means the gears and rear brake are on the opposite sides compared to most bikes. Now, this isn't as difficult to get used to as you'd think (kinda like the indicator/wiper configuration on Euro cars, but more dangerous) but I'm keeping my other bike and so don't want to have another thing to worry about when riding (apart from my sketchy skills). Normally it's a pretty straightforward job swapping them back, but this 40 year old Ironhead was rusted through where you need to do the swap so Paul had to build this crazy linkage set up that ran around the front of the bike. The pics don't do it justice, but the thing is a fucking work of art, everything works within fractions of a millimetre, this dude's brain just works on a whole other level. Freak.

So to celebrate his awesomeness we proceeded to get drunk and high five a lot. About 6 beers in, talk turned to what's next, and of course this thing's gonna have a sissy bar (in name and nature) so what does Paul do? Starts using all his nasty-looking machinery to mock up what we're talking about. Don't try this at home kids. And voila, one sissy-bar mock-up. Being the dork I am, i jump up on to the bike and started making over-excited broom broom noises. Excellent.

Oh yeah, that white thing on my back that looks like a hood is a sling - I got knocked off my other bike a couple days ago by an old dude in an expensive SUV and dislocated my shoulder - nice! Got some gnarly gravel rash too. My first stack. Glad it wasn't too nasty.

My first tattoo. Chris you've got bigger balls than brains mate, thanks for letting me mangle you. This badboy still needs a few touches of colour and some shading, but not bad for a first attempt? Or terrible probably.

If the real tattooists found out, I'd probably have my arms broken. So loyal blog followers, let's keep this between us huh? Okay good.
